FINAL CALL FOR ENTRY SHORT MOVIE COMPETITION - DEADLINE 1 MARCH

5th Curacao International Film Festival Rotterdam (CIFFR)

For the first 2 editions of the festival, the Short Movies Big Stories competition was open to students only. From the 3rd edition the competition was opened to professional filmmakers, but still only those residing on Curacao.

From April 6 - April 10, 2016, CIFFR celebrates its 5th edition and as part of this celebration it decided to open the Short Movie competition to (aspiring) filmmakers from all islands of the former Dutch Antilles as well as a number of countries in the region with which the festival has cooperated closely these past years.

Who can Participate?

  • The competition is exclusively open for residents from Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, (Dutch) St Maarten, St Eustatius, Suriname, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Guadeloupe, Mexico, and Trinidad & Tobago. Minimum age is 18 years.
  • Participation is FREE.

What should you do?

  • The short film should fit one of these genres: Fiction, Documentary, Animation.
  • The subject must fit one of the assigned themes (C'est La Vie - I've Just Seen a Face - It's All Too Beautiful) or the synopsis A Drop on a Stone.
  • Only one (1) film can be submitted per individual

The submission period runs untill midnight on 1 March 2016.

The winner of the Short Movies Big Stories Award wins a trip to the Netherlands to attend (part of) IFFR 2017 and take part in various activities of the professionals program.
