"Through the Pane" has been invited to screen out of competition in the Off Caracoles section of the Cortos Por Caracoles Film Fest in Seville, Spain for September 3-10, 2016.
Helmed by Dawn Westlake, the film is based on the memoir chapter by her father, Donald G. Westlake, about his acceptance of her mother's death. GC Johnson of Acoustic Labs has been nominated for the Peer Raben Music Award from SoundTrack_Cologne in Koln, Germany for his score for "Through the Pane". The film will be presented at SoundTrack_Cologne on August 27, 2016.

Jecheon International Music & Film Festival (제천국제음악영화제, JIMFF) strives to be both a celebration of film set in Jecheon City and music for all generations and musical tastes. Jecheon is located in Chungcheongbuk province in central Korea.
Out of 400 submissions, "Games People Play", a noir comedy written and helmed by Dawn Westlake, will represent the USA in Ferizaj, Kosovo in the FerFilm Fest September 2-6, 2015. The film was shot on the CanonC500 by Jon Carr who also did the editing and vfx. "Games People Play" stars David Razowsky, Mark Jacobson and Westlake herself and features an original score by GC Johnson of Acoustic Labs.

Nima Lavafpour is a travelling musician from Iran, who has had a deep intimate relationship with India. And ever since a child, he has been visiting and re-visiting India to discover his spiritual quest. And on one such visit, he gets to re-discover a memoir.
Taking us back in time (2007) when his band Nafir was a blend of traditional Persian and modern world fusion sounds of the tanboor, khamanche, daf or dafli, with a dash of nu-jazz guitar and steel flute intertwined with howling dervish chants & contemporary vocal styles.
This film is a musical exploration of memoirs of travels, sanguine performances, candid moments and exchange of philosophies reminding us of an age-long spiritual and cultural bond between India and Iran. For those who are following open lines of Sufism outside and beyond any pre-conceived doctrine of law or institutions.
It took 8 years for the filmmaker to shape, form and mould documented evidence into a story that unwraps and explores the Kadiri dervish form of Sufi music (Persia) and an age-long cultural & spiritual Indo-Iranian bond. This film is also a kind of a unique proposition towards building an international exchange of music and expertise between the two great nations of India and Iran, who've left a huge cultural impact on the world...

Westlake traveled to the Grand Canyon by rail from Williams, AZ on January 21st and then drove in the Navajo Tribal Park of Monument Valley, UT later in the month to get the footage, using the GoPro Hero3 and Hero3+ on a car mount.

A diverse array of the latest music films that deal with music regardless of genre are introduced in ‘World Music Film Today’. The jury, which consists of 5 members from Korea and abroad, will select 2 films from those in competition to award the Grand Prize and the Jury Special Prize. The Grand Prize winner receives 10 million Korean won and the Jury Special Prize winner receives 5 million won.

The second edition of the festival takes place October 14th – 19th, 2014 in Toronto, a filmmaker’s mecca and media launchpad for some of the industry’s brightest young talent. This year the festival grows to include 2 more features, shorts and music videos.
