NYC Shorts celebrates the short form by showcasing provocative and entertaining films from around the world. The Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theater at Symphony Space, an arts and entertainment venue in New York City, is the home for our 10th anniversary edition.

Created by filmmakers David Barba, James Pellerito and Jennifer Pellerito, NYC Shorts includes the following competition categories:  drama, comedy, documentary, lgbt, student, foreign language and animation.  In celebration of our 10th Anniversary, the film selected Best of Fest will be awarded a special cash prize.

DEADLINES (all postmark dates) EARLY - 16 April 2014 - Entry fee $30 / Student $25 REGULAR - 16 May 2014 - Entry fee $35 / Student $30 LATE - 16 June 2014 - Entry fee $45 / Student $40 EXTENDED WITHOUTABOX - 1 July 2014 - Entry fee $60 / Student $55 GENERAL REGULATIONS --Total Running Time (TRT) including credits, must be under 20 minutes (no exceptions, unfortunately) --​All foreign language films must be subtitled in English --​If you are submitting an online screener through Vimeo or a similar site, please include the link and password (if necessary) on paper entry form or on Withoutabox cover letter --​All films selected for the festival grant NYC Shorts the right to use no more than 2 minutes and press materials from the film for promotional purposes --​By submitting, you are agreeing to allow NYC Shorts to retain a DVD or digital copy of your film if officially selected as part of our festival library and for media educational use. --If you are submitting online through Withoutabox, you do NOT have to complete a paper entry form.
