Artivist Festival: Noble Ideals but questionable business practice?

Great trailer isn’t it?

It shows noble ideals with unquestionable statements.

We at filmfestivals.com share these values and ideals it and we were confident, we believed the business practices would match these social values they claimed their own.
We believed we could grant our trust to such a festival.
WRONG;
We found nice people, very open to our ideas, advice for promotion of their event, all founders were so passionate and appreciative of our help in view of their objectives.

When they encountered financial difficulties they begged for special treatment for the payment of the bill for their ad campaign 2 years ago, again we gladly accepted to help them and offered delay, installments, postponement, we even increased the pressure of their banner campaign so that they could get more of these paying submissions...They got hundreds of them buy never paid us back the bulk of the campaign. onlye the initial payment a mere 25%
After 2 years we never got our money, never heard back despite tens of emails without reply)
Finally the insult emails came back from Diaky Diaz.

WE WERE SO WRONG!

We advise you to take a second look when dealing with these individuals at Artivists.

Of course we are partiam because we feel betrayed, we can even forget the insults!
We have lost 3 thousand dollars and do not have a legal counsel in the US...
But we are concerned other filmmakers or companies, partners...get hurt.
How come someone can claim such pure ideals and values and tramp them in real life dealings with other people?
I do not undertstand that.

If you had a similar experience: we would be happy to know.
Any comments are welcome.
Any feedback about Artivist  or Beverly Hills Film Festival are welcome.

Santa Barbara American Riviera Award To tommy Lee Jones

On Friday night, Tommy Lee Jones was in town to accept the American Riviera Award. Andy Davis, who directed Jones in “The Fugitive,” was here to present. In addition to snagging interviews with each, we also managed to get a behind the scenes peak at went went on from the stage of the Arlington Theater.

Santa Barbara Festival: 2008 Modern Master Award to Cate Blanchett

The Modern Master award is the highest honor from the SBIFF, and Cate Blanchett was on hand Saturday evening to receive it. Our own Melanie Waters spoke with Cate, as well as director, Todd Haynes, who presented the award.
And if that wasn’t enough, we spoke with festival juror and “House of Sand & Fog” actress, Shohreh Aghdashloo and TV’s “House” star, Olivia Wilde.

It was an amazing evening. After watching our coverage, we hope you’ll agree.

Bustin’ Down the Door The Santa Barbara International Film Festival Podcast

Bustin’ Down the Door The Santa Barbara International Film Festival Podcast

Sunday night was the premiere of the highly anticipated surf documentary Bustin’ Down the Door. The line of locals waiting to get a seat stretched all the way through the courtyard of the Arlington Theatre and down the block - to date, the longest line we’ve seen at this year’s SBIFF.

We managed to snag interviews with director, Jeremy Gosch, and surf icons Shaun Tomson and Rabbit Bartholomew. The surf community has waited a long time for this film, let’s see what the buzz was about!

Santa Barbara Opening Night: “Definitely, Maybe”

The Santa Barbara International Film Festival Podcast

Opening Night: “Definitely, Maybe”

It poured buckets of rain down on Santa Barbara on Thursday, but that didn’t stop the thrill of opening night at the 23rd annual SBIFF! People were out in force to watch the world premiere of “Definitely, Maybe,” attend the gala, and maybe get a peek at their favorite celeb. If you couldn’t make it, don’t fret, we captured it all for you!

In our first show we speak with Ryan Reynolds, Abigail Breslin, Adam Brooks, Derek Luke, and Liane Balaban. As if that wasn’t enough, we roped our very own Roger Durling in for a quick chat as well.

Take a look!

Santa Barbara Honoring Julie Christie

Santa Barbara Festival Day 2
On Friday evening the festivities moved over to the more intimate Lobero Theater. Local celeb, and KTYD-FM personality, Julie Ramos, worked the red carpet and talked with legendary director, Norman Jewison, and iconic film critic, Leonard Maltin. Of course Julie also had a nice chat with honoree, Julie Christie.

Santa Barbara Honoring Javier Bardem

Monday night was short and sweet on the red carpet. Although Woody Harrelson was scheduled to walk the red carpet, a miscalculation of traffic got him into Santa Barbara too late.

Julie Ramos did manage to speak with honoree, Javier Bardem about his role in No Country for Old Men.
