2022 San Diego International Kids' film festival event postponed for safer

Based on the pandemic trend in San Diego and around the world, the 19th San Diego International Kids' Film Festival, which was originally scheduled to be held in Southern California at the end of August 2022, will be postponed until a later date. So far, the San Diego International Kids' Film Festival has received 150+ submissions from 28 counties,  including feature films, short films, animation, children-made films, youth-made films, music videos, and screenplays. Since its inception, the SDIKFF has always regarded the safety of children as the first consideration for the events. At present, the variant version of COVID-19 and the crazy spread of monkeypox have led to the repeated upgrading of pandemic prevention standards in local school districts, which is not only being responsible for the health of teenagers and children but also an effort to end the global spread of COVID-19 as soon as possible.

The San Diego International Kids' Film Festival has been committed to building a first-class international children's theme film festival platform in the past 20 years. The on-site activities of the film festival have become an annual family event for fans in the United States and even around the world. Many local children in California grew up with the annual San Diego International Kids' Film Festival. The history of the film festival is also a record of many children's growth. Even in 2020, when the epidemic was the most serious, the San Diego International Kids' Film Festival still insisted on fulfilling its commitments to the participants and young filmmakers. For the first time, the award ceremony of the film festival was presented online, transforming the glorious moments of many excellent filmmakers into an eternal memory.

Every unexpected change is also a new opportunity. Although this year's on-site activities cannot be held as scheduled, the film festival committee also decided to extend the submission receiving deadline to September, so that more films that failed to complete post-production before August will have the opportunity to catch this year's film festival express without waiting for another year. San Diego International Kids' Film Festival warmly welcomes more excellent children's theme films, and more excellent child actors, children-made films, and student-made films to participate in the 19th San Diego International Kids' Film Festival. Perhaps in the golden autumn, when the epidemic is fully over, friends from all over the world will be able to cross the ocean again and gather at the 2022 SDIKFF. Let's wait patiently for the reunion with love for the film and expectations for the future.
