Competition announcement (June 23^th – October 31^th)

Fish&Chips and Altera are organizing the first edition of the Fish&Chips Film Festival – International Erotic Film Festival, which will take place in Turin in January 2016.

The festival aims at promoting the diffusion of erotic movies, both Italian and international, which narrate sexuality through pictures, in an innovative and non-discriminatory way. 

General rules

Art. 1 – Movies must contain implicit or explicit erotic scenes and/or show an interesting and original perspective on sexuality

Art. 2 – The competition is organised in two sections:

1.      SHORT MOVIES: audiovisual works – fiction, documentaries, animation – shorter than 30 minutes, released after January 1^st, 2013.

2.    FULL-LENGTH MOVIES: audiovisual works – fiction, documentaries, animation – longer than 31 minutes, released after January 1^st, 2013.

Art. 3 – The worth of the awards for each of the two sections and possible others awards, bestowed by a board of experts and professionals, will be established before the beginning of the Festival.

Art. 4 – Movies selection and shows schedule are exclusive competence of the Artistic Supervision board of the Festival.

Art. 5 – The participation to the festival is free.

Deadline: October 31^st 2015

Send an e-mail to fishandchipsfilmfestival@gmail.com with:

• A copy of the registration form, filled in with all the required information and signed for the acceptance of the rules.
• Link to the film, preferably downloadable (MPEG4 or MOV). Specify the password, if present.

Non-Italian movies must be subtitled, either in English or in Italian. If they are subtitled in English, a list of the lines must be sent as well.

• A photo of the director/s and three frames from the movie (minimum resolution of 300 dpi). Each photo must be named with the title of the movie followed by a sequential number (ex.: Title_1.jpg; Title_2.jpg).

Shipping costs and custom tax have to be covered by the participant. In order to simplify custom procedures, we ask you to write on the package: “No commercial value, for cultural purposes only”.

Authors and/or producers are responsible for the content of their works and, by subscribing to the contest, they declare that they comply with copyright laws.

Material sent for the pre-selection will not be returned and will be kept in the Altera database for documentation purposes.

6.2 – Selected movies 

The screening format of selected movies will be agreed with the author/s, and it will have to be shipped to Turin as soon as possible.

For each selected movie it will be mandatory to supply:

·      A brief synopsis of the movie, in Italian and/or in English.

·      A biography and a filmography of the director/s, in Italian and/or in English.

·      A list of the festivals in which the movie has participated and of the awards it has received, if any.

·      Promotional material (pressbook, pictures, posters), if available.

Art. 7 – By filling in the participation form you agree with all the present rules.

Art. 8 – The Artistic Supervision board of the Festival can take incontrovertible decisions about matters which are not considered in the present rules.
