World premiere of PIONEER HEROES (Pionery Geroi) at Berlinale in Panorama

The feature film PIONEER HEROES (Pionery Geroi) by the director Natalia Kudryashova will celebrate its world premiere in the Panorama section of the Berlin International Film Festival in 2015. Natalia Kudryashova will be available for interviews in Berlin. Being Natalia Kudryashova's debut feature film, PIONEER HEROES (Pionery Geroi) is nominated for Berlinale's Best First Feature Award by Berlinale Festival Director Dieter Kosslick.

PIONEER HEROES (Pionery Geroi) is a story of the last generation of pioneers of the USSR. Nowadays they are in their 30s. Being taught to stick up to the Soviet ideology with its stories of heroic deeds, they were the last ones to grow up in the Soviet Union. Back then the kids believed in spies and were waiting for “the bright future”. Nowadays Soviet ideals are gone forever. But t
there is still a strong desire of something bigger.

Natalia Kudryashova is a director, scriptwriter and actress. She was born in Nizhniy Novgorod in the Soviet Union in 1978. She graduated from the Nizhniy Novgorod Theatre School in 2000 as an actress. Later on she graduated from the Director’ Laboratory under the tutelage of Anatoliy Vassiliev at the School of Dramatic Art in Moscow in 2006 and pursued a career as an actress. In 2010 she was nominated at the prestigious Golden Mask Theatre Festival as Best Actress for the play “Break” by director Adolf Shapiro, followed by a nomination as Best Female Debut at the Sozvezdie Festival. Apart from acting, Natalia Kudryashova also turned to directing and graduated from the High Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors as a feature film director in 2012. Her short KHOLOD won the Best Feature Short Film Award at the Art Kino Fest Film Festival in 2011, followed by a Special Award at the Open Cinema Festival for her short UTRO LIZY in 2013. PIONEER HEROES (Pionery Geroi) is her first feature film. The film is a coproduction by CTB Film Company in association with the Russian Ministry of Culture.
