SciFi projects Taking Earth and Teleios bound to Berlin with Empress RoadEmpress Road Pictures President, Galen Christy, and CEO, Faisal Toor, announced today a deal to sell World Wide distribution rights for the sci-fi features TAKING EARTH and TELEIOS at Berlinale. Empress Road will be selling the films at EFM'16 from February 11 to the 19th.
TAKING EARTH is a science-fiction/action epic filmed on location in South Africa. It was directed by up-and-comer Grant Humphreys and stars Ronan Quarmby.
TAKING EARTH follows the human race being thrown into chaos as an alien invasion takes control of the planet in an effort to find one boy out of 7 billion people who holds the power to destroy them.
The film was produced by Grant Knight and Michael Harrison.
The second picture is TELEIOS, directed by Ian Truitner (CUTTING ROOM). It stars Sunny Mabrey (SNAKES ON A PLANE, XXX: STATE OF THE UNION), Lance Broadway (OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN, Lucifer), and Christian Pitre (CRAZY, STUPID, LOVE, BOUNTY KILLER).
TELEIOS follows five genetically engineered "perfect" humans on a rescue mission to Titan, where only one man has survived a ruined expedition to retrieve a vital cargo.
"These films prove how far independent films have advanced over the years. Taking Earth and Teleios are on trend with exactly what moviegoers everywhere want during a time when films like STAR WARS and STAR TREK are blowing up the box and INDEPENDENCE DAY releasing this year. We are so excited to announce both of these incredible films for sale at EFM'16" says Christy. Toor adds, "These pictures have everything: action, science fiction intrigue, mind-blowing special effects... everything! Berlin won't be able to contain the excitement for these two pictures!'"
