Italy's finest seafood gets served under the spotlight on this last day of Berlinale Culinary Cinema Film & Food thanks to “The Knights of the Lagoon”, the documentary by Walter Bencini.

The official screening that will take place in the evening of Valentine's Day will be followed by a typical “Italian Style” dinner. The menu will include Crostini with ricotta cheese and Mediterranean herbs, Botargo and artichokes hearts with smoked fish carpaccio from Orbetello and Italian style fish soup with fresh herbs. The main courses will be followed by a dessert of Chestnut flour cake.

"The Knights of the Lagoon" explores the lives of the “Cooperativa de I pescatori di Orbetello” allowing Bencini to bring his camera into the world of a fishing community drawing on the past and reinventing itself in order to survive. Telling the stories of his Knights, the director investigates on the efficiency of a new method of fishing and the priority of taking care of the organic food and at the same time preserving the environment and those who work for it. The famous Botargo from Orbetello has been treasured by the Slow Food international association. This is why a Botargo based dinner will be served to the invited guests right after the 6.30pm screening inside the fascinating Markthalle Neun in Kreuzberg.

This is the very same menu that gets served by the italian fishermen in their restaurant built within the stables of the Spanish Cavalry. A marvelous window on the Orbetello Lagoon.
