STREAMING TV FESTIVAL

A MONTHLY ONLINE SCREENING AND BROADCAST CONTEST!

Streaming TV & Film Festival

1.) A direct pathway to assist you in showcasing your stories to the industry, advancing your career goals, and growing your professional network.

2.) A chance to Screen your Pilot, Work in Progress, Series, or completed Film. Trailers are FREE.

3.) Metro gives those who enter our Festival the option for Publicity and Promotion on our TV Channels and Mobile Apps. Get streamed to over 200,000 Subscribers on our Roku and Amazon Fire TV channels, and over 10,000 on our new Android App.

Our filmmakers have used Metro as a Launch-Pad for getting Distribution deals, here's one:

A SUCCESS STORY...
Alexander Pimentel, Director of "Down River" streamed his feature film on Metro's Connected TV Channel, "Movies Plus" on Amazon Fire TV. After 6 months and 70,000 downloads, Alex shared the news with a Venture capitalist who agreed to finance Alex's next feature film.

MORE ABOUT US....

Q: Will a million people watch my film?
A: Maybe, but most likely about 50,000.

Q: How is my film displayed on your channels?
A: Each video features a poster art and a description. When a Roku, or Amazon Fire-TV user clicks on it, then the video streams. Currently there are video AD's that play about every 13 minutes..

Q: What methods do you use to monetize films and TV shows?

A. AD-REV SHARE (see description below.)
B. ANCILLARY PRODUCT SALES (You know, like those neat Marvel soda-pop cups you get at McDonalds.)

1.. We encourage you to place your website-URL and mission statement on your film's POSTER-ART. This art is the first thing that people see on our TV channels.

2. Put your Website address or Point of sale address on your VIDEO-DESCRIPTION. When our audience selects a film to watch, then your film's description pops up, and you may tell them how to buy your DVD or other product here.

3. Publicize your film studio or Swag at the start/end of your FILM. If a person likes your movie, then they'll be encouraged to visit your website to buy a T-Shirt or other ancillary product.

4. AD REVENUE: We partner with FILM ORGANIZATIONS. IF you are a member of a group of filmmakers, then we can offer your group a portion of the advertising revenue. Please note that this arrangement is something we do on a case by case basis for FILM MEETUP's, Film Societies, and other organizations that have over 50 members, and at least 50 films in their library of content.

Q: Where can I watch the Festival's movies and TV programs?
A: On Roku, Android, and Amazon Fire-TV devices. Programming is free and it's free to add the channels and apps. (Buy a Roku/Fire for about 25 bucks, it's a one-time fee and you simply plug it into your TV.)

Q: How do I get your Channels or check out your TV-APPS?
A: Visit https://blog.martianpoop.com/tv-apps/ (Links on this page point to Roku, Amazon, and Googleplay.) See Rules below for direct links to our channels.

SCOPE OF THE FEST...
The Metro TV & Film Awards are International and support most every type of content from across the globe. However, we accept only ENGLISH SPEAKING (DIALOG) submissions only. Subtitles will NOT meet our requirements.

A content's Release Window(s) is not a determining factor for consideration in the Festival. Metro aims to encourage filmmakers, rather than looking for methods of exclusion.

We aim to promote you, not knock you down!
NO CONTRACTS! NO EXCLUSIVES!

SINCE 2014: A GREAT WAY TO GET YOUR WORK SEEN BY THOUSANDS OF FILM LOVERS.

12 Months Film Festival

The 12 Months Film Festival (#12MFF) is an international online film event that attracts, displays and awards movie enthusiasts, and professionals from 6 continents, in the largest monthly qualification challenge for the Grand Prize. The 11 months editions will award and send 3 winners each in the #12MFF for the Grand Prize that takes place the end of April 2017.

The International Online Film Festival

Welcome to the International Online Film Festival!

The International Online Festival is now accepting film submissions for its 1st edition, slated for 1 October 2016, which will host over 150 countries and 1,000 films.

The International Online Festival is quarterly, taking place every 3 months, and is open to any professional film produced within the last 5 years, from any country, for the Official Competition, and any professional film older than 5 years, from any country, for the Out-of-Competition archives.

Each country will have its own section and competition. Each country section is divided into features in competition, shorts in competition, and out-of-competition archives. Winners of the country competitions, as decided by audience voting, will establish the pre-selection for the Official Competition.

The festival is open to all genres (features, shorts, documentaries, animation…).

The festival is non-exclusive in nature.

Following each competition all films remain on the website in the out-of-competition archives for 12 months (renewable) for streaming and downloading.

All films will be screened before acceptance. Notification of acceptance will be sent to filmmakers within 48h via email.

VIEWSTER ONLINE FILM FEST (#VOFF)

The #VOFF is an international online event that attracts, displays and rewards series, short films, features, web series and project-teasers that are not always as famous as they should be.

The #VOFF is a community moderated contest. Millions of viewers will create a short list out of all qualified entries. The #VOFF Jury of Experts (led by Ted Hope) will review the short list and choose the three final winners of the festival.

Love has never been easy. Relationships are tricky so show us the good, the bad and the ugly and compete for awards totaling USD$100,000. For the second edition of #VOFF, we invite all films, series and project teasers longer than three minutes with the theme “Relationship Status: It’s Complicated”

How It Works

We’ll be putting together a new revised voting system for #VOFF 2, but essentially the Viewster community and your fans will watch, comment, share and vote for their favorite entries. They will help to curate the entries with at least the top ten moving onto the finals. After that our Jury of Experts - Ted Hope, Nora Tschirner and Timo Vuorensola - will select the winners to be announced July 7, 2014 on http://festival.viewster.com

Objectives

The main goals of the #VOFF are:

  • Bringing content creators and the film-lovers together.
  • Empowering the audience to decide which content should make it in front of our Jury
  • Helping content creators to expose their work and gain publicity for it
  • Offer the chance to win some huge cash prizes

Why Participate?

  • Chance to win a piece of the $100k cake with a cool first prize of $70k
  • Chance to connect with other creators online
  • Gain publicity and awareness for your content

Regulations

To submit, your project must:

  • Be a short film, series, pilot or a project-teaser
  • Fits the theme “Relationship Status: It’s Complicated”
  • Be at least three minutes long (excluding end credits)
  • Be maximum eight years old (first shown publicly on or after 2006)
  • Be of any Genre
  • Be in English or subtitled in English
