Animation is a risky business, a company will spend 4-5 years on a film and if it doesn't have the Disney, Pixar, or Dreamworks logo, it normally fails in box office. So it may be even riskier to spend money to display these films in the Cannes Film Festival, with many being advertised throughout the market and in apartments and offices*.
