Toronto Film Festival DailiesThe 48th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival takes place Thursday, September 7—17, 2023 in Canada's most vibrant and exciting metropolis, it has become one of the most important film events on the festival calendar. Past Coverage 2014 2015 - Coverage 2016 in French English Interview with Santiago Esteinou for his documentary: Los anos de FierroLos anos de Fierro The years of Fierro tells the story of Cesar, the oldest Mexican prisoner on death row in the United States. Cesar has waited for his execution date for more than 30 years, always insisting that he is innocent. The years of Fierro is a reflection on justice, imprisonment, punishment, guilt and brotherly love, through the eyes of Cesar and his brother, Sergio. These two brothers still hope to meet again, no matter the time or the distance. The director, Santiago Esteinou studied at Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica in Mexico, Temple University in Philadelphia, and New York University.
