Ronita TorcatoA little chit, a little chat, a little bit of this & that;meaning news, views & lotsa reviews from an independent journo based in Bombay aka Mumbai “Theatre is in my blood ” says Debesh Chattterjee, debut director of ‘Natokar Moto’
Debesh Chattterjee, debut director of ‘Natokar Moto’ (Bengali for ‘like a play’) says helming was a great experience but he will always remain hopelessly devoted to the stage because “Theatre is in my blood.”
‘Natokar Moto’ traces the journey of ‘Kheya’, a theatre artist and depicts Kolkata's socio-cultural circuit from 1950 to the 1970s. It depicts the struggles and conflicts that a female artist experiences even after two decades of globalization.
Actress Pauli Dam said that she spent 4 to 5 months getting inside the skin of the character; it was a new experience to her working with a theatre director, “and yet!” she says, “I felt so comfortable,he was such a friendly director with a creative mind who is able to capture any situation and sculpt it into a beautiful piece of art”.
