The Talent Dove goes to Ilian Metev for his shortfilm „Goleshovo“

The Talent Dove goes to Great Britain: Quiet story has convinced the jury.

Tonight, the International Young Documentary will take the centre stage of DOK Leipzig:
The jury of the International Young Documentary Talent Competition „Generation DOK“ Tamara Trampe (filmmaker and dramatic adviser, Germany), Thomas Wallner (filmmaker and producer, Canada) and Erkko Lyytinen (festival director und filmmaker, Finland) will decide who will be awarded with the Talent Dove of the Media Foundation of the Sparkasse Leipzig connected with 10.000 EUR. The International Young Documentary Talent Competition „Generation DOK“ has been introduced in 2007. Its jury will not only announce the best international young documentary film but also two merit awards. Being a central concern of DOK Leipzig, the festival wishes to offer a platform for young directors, to focus on their talent and works as well as to help them to distribute their films on an international level. 14 films from as many countries have been nominated for the International Young Documentary Talent Competition. Two striking features of these films are both their thematic diversity and their tendency to fathom the limits of documentary film. For the first time, three animated documentary films were nominated for the Talent Dove.

The Talent Dove goes to Ilian Metev for his shortfilm „Goleshovo“ (Great Britain, Bulgaria 2008).

Special mentions go to:
Aliona Polunina for "The Revolution That Wasn't" (Estonia, Finland 2008, 100 Min.) and to Rokhsareh Ghaemmaghami for her animated documentary film "Cyanosis" (Iran 2007).
