Ones to watch: Sunrise Film Festival kicked off first edition

Nova Scotia will be playing host to the brand new Sunrise Film Festival.  It will open with a gala launch party featuring a concert by Christine Martin, Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 7pm., at the Lobster Factory in Pugwash.  The festival further kicks off with a Hawaiian party, Thursday, October 8,

2015 at 6pm., featuring the full feature comedy GET A JOB.  The director, Brian Kohne and one of the producer's, Raymond Rolak will be on hand for a Q & A.  At the River John Fire Hall.

The first year film festival will show 87 offerings at various community locations.  It runs October 7, until October 11, with enrichment workshops Saturday, starting at 11am.

The first festival will take place from October 8th-11th at various venues along the north shore of Nova Scotia. A full program of events, screenings and venues is below. Online ticket ordering will be available soon - in the meantime, if you want to reserve tickets email: festival@simple-films.comor contact the venue directly. Schedule is open to change and you should check with venues or box office for latest listings. 
The following films have not been given an official viewers classification. However, we have recommended those films containing adult content, violence or improper language should be limited to over 18s. We believe that in some cases the recommendations are quite conservative and would ask parents to use their discretion as to whether or not to allow their children to view any films so noted.
