HypeFest opens this week

HypeFest: A unique film festival that links independent ideas with commercial creativity.

Drama, intrigue, comedy and cocktails. All this and more abounds at HypeFest,
a high-energy film & video festival slated to showcase creativity in film, commercials and music videos from a diversity of filmmakers and storytellers.

Providing a bridge between content creators and the independent and commercial communities, HypeFest offers a platform for filmmakers to promote their work to the commercial industry. Screening narrative and non-narrative shorts, commercials and music videos, and utilizing the current methods of filmmaking including live-action, animation, digital and traditional techniques, HypeFest will also host a screenwriting contest honoring the best and the brightest new voices in cinema.

In the first year of our festival in 2003, over 1,000 people from the film, commercial production, music video and broadcast communities attended the two-day event held at CineSpace in Hollywood. In addition, we welcomed many international filmmakers from Mexico, Germany, Canada and New Zealand, as well as student filmmakers. This year, HypeFest will be held from July 23 - 25, 2004 at CineSpace and we expect the same number of attendees...if not more!
