The Denver Film Festival (DFF), produced by Denver Film Society (DFS), announced its dates for its 40th anniversary edition: November 1-12, 2017. Recognized as one of the nation’s premier film events, DFF is known for presenting Academy Award and Independent Spirit Award-winning films, along with hosting some of the world’s leading filmmakers, producers and actors.

“Having one of the older and more established regional film festivals in the US is more a testament to the amazing film loving community of Denver than it is to any one thing we’ve done as an organization,” says Festival Director, Britta Erickson “The Denver Film Society prides itself on continuing the forty-year legacy of the organization by putting the best of cinema on screen every year, and this year is no exception. From the high-caliber of films, to the amazing special guests, the 40th Denver Film Festival may prove to be the best one yet and a true sign that the demand for quality film entertainment isn’t going away, here in the Mile High City, any time soon.”

DFF40 will present more than 200 titles among local, national and international independent films, industry panels, workshops, achievement awards and tributes, as well as a focus on Danish Cinema. The full 12-day Festival program will be announced on Monday, October 9.

The year-round home of DFS, the Sie FilmCenter will serve as the anchor venue for the Festival with all Red Carpet Presentations at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Screenings will also be presented at venues around the city, including the UA Denver Pavilions on the 16th Street Mall. DFS will also be returning to the Festival Annex, located inside the McNichols Building at Civic Center Park. The Annex will play host to panel discussions, community engagement, virtual reality, the Capital One Café and a Festival lounge for the public.

Individual tickets go on sale to DFS members on Tuesday, October 10 and to the general public on Wednesday, October 11. High-level members will be able to purchase their tickets in advance of the public & member onsale dates. Tickets will be available for purchase online at www.denverfilm.org or the DFF main box office location at the Sie FilmCenter (2510 E. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80206).
