Colin Farrell and the Lobster to close CRAIC FEST March 5 NYCSince 1999 the Craic Fest has been the premier Irish film and music festival in the U.S. This year is no exception with an eclectic mix of Irish features, documentaries and short films.
This year marks the 18th annual Craic Fest, presented by Castle Brands and Stella Artois. Opening night is the NY premier of Irish boxing documentary Hardy (about the local Irish female boxer Heather “The Heat” Hardy) Heather and Director Natasha Varma will be in attendance for Q&A. Friday night gala is the NY premier of Irish indie film You’re Ugly Too starring Aiden Gillen (Actor HBO – The Wire). Saturday afternoon the Craic rolls on with the Kids Fleadh from 11a-1pm. Saturday afternoon is a LGBT brunch with the premier of VIVA (Shot by Irish director Paddy Breathnach). Closing night is the NY premier of The Lobster starring Irish heartthrob Colin Farrell. Q&A to follow as well. We are delighted to have such a diverse lineup this year and we are doing a filmmaker lounge this year as well for all three days at Bow Tie Cinemas (W 23rd St.)” says Festival Director Terence Mulligan .
The Craic Music Fest is on the following weekend March 12th at Mercury Lounge. A stellar lineup with the return of Rubberbandits, The Mighty Stef. Hundred Hounds and a touch of the Blues with the The Smithy Blues band. Doors at 8pm at Mercury March 12
