Russian Pavilion Roskino Program in Cannes

The Russian delegation at Cannes is represented by ROSKINO with the generous support of the Russian Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The event is sponsored by Aeroflot Russian Airlines and the Elena and Gennady Timchenko Foundation.

At the 2015 edition of the festival, Russian filmmakers will be part of all its main sections as well as of the accompanying film market.

THE 68th INTERNATIONAL CANNES FILM FESTIVAL OFFICIAL PROGRAM

This year, one of the most prestigious sidebars of the Cannes Film Festival, Cinéfondation, includes two entries from Russia: "Erkin's Return" by Mariya Guskova, alumna of the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors; and "14 Steps" by Maхim Shavkin (Best Short Film, Moscow IFF '2014), who graduated last year from the Moscow New Cinema School.

The winner of the Cinéfondation award is entitled to premiere his or her next feature in the official program of the next year's Cannes IFF. The three awardees will be announced on May 22nd. Sixteen contenders are in the running.

THE RUSSIAN PAVILION AT VILLAGE INTERNATIONAL

The Russian Pavilion will represent our country at the Cannes Festival and the Marché du Film Market for the eighth time. The Pavilion serves as a unified information center for Russian filmmakers, and as an integrated platform for increasing the international visibility of Russian filmmaking.

Russian Pavilion 2015 proudly presents:

·         "The Focus on New Russian Cinema" Presentation

The festival's lineup will be presented by MIFF General Producer Leonid Vereshchagin; MIFF Program Director Kirill Razlogov; MIFF PR Director Petr Shepotinnik

·         NEW CO-PRODUCTION RULES IN EUROPE Conference (with Producers Guild of Russia)

Co-production is one of the few tools that allow Russian film to cross over internationally and, at the same time, contribute to the increase of the Russian share in international film distribution. The European Co-Production Convention, whose final draft will be adopted in April, is one of the instruments regulating relations among producers in this sphere. A round table featuring leading producers, representatives of international film foundations, and Russian Ministry of Culture, will be held at the Russian Pavilion. Some discussion topics include searching for the most efficient models of co-production, developing instruments of co-production, and embracing private initiative; success stories of earlier projects will be shared, and searches for new partners will be conducted.

– State Support in Russia and Abroad

– Russia-Europe-China-Hollywood: Case Studies

– Project Development on the Way to Success

Speakers include: Anna Mansi (British Film Institute); Katriel Schori (Director of Israel Film Fund); Leonid Demchenko (Russian Ministry of Culture; Russian delegate at Eurimages) etc.
