Opportunity, access and acclaim.

With more content and exhibitors than feature films, by far, television writing is an exciting way for aspiring writers to break in. The Golden Age of Television Competition is looking for writers with new ideas and a strong voice so that we may introduce you to industry players who matter. There are two categories for submission:

  • Spec scripts (for existing shows), half-hour and one hour, all genres.
  • Original pilots and MOW (movie of the week). All genres, up to one hour

Prizes

Prizes are focused on helping writers with professional development and making introductions to professionals who offer priceless advice in the field.

Grand Prize
Winners of each category receive:

  • $1,000 in cash
  • 30-minute phone consult with acclaimed Jen Grisanti, story consultant, independent producer, writing instructor for NBC's Writers on the Verge, blogger for The Huffington Post and author of the upcoming book, Story Line: Finding the Gold In Your Life Story.
  • Your script ready by and a 30-minute phone (or in person) meeting with Charles Rosin, prolific writer and producer of Dawson's Creek, Northern Exposure and Beverly Hills 90210

Runners Up
Three runners up in each category receive:

  • a free 30 minute career phone consult with Julie Gray
  • complete dvd series of the television show of their choice

Julie Gray authors the award-winning screenwriting blog, Just Effing Entertain Me and is a regular contributor to the Huffington Post. Julie consults privately with a wide variety of writers and teaches classes at Warner Bros., The Great American PitchFest, The Creative Screenwriting Expo and has taught at San Francisco University in Quito, Ecuador, Columbia College in Chicago, West England University in Bristol and The Oxford Union at Oxford University.
