FILM & TV FESTIVAL: March 10-18, 2023

The SXSW Film & TV Festival celebrates raw innovation and emerging talent from behind and in front of the camera. Featuring provocative dramas, documentaries, comedies, genre standouts and more, the festival is known for its high caliber and diverse program of film, TV and XR, as well as its smart, enthusiastic audiences.

For nine days in March, creatives of all stripes gather for the acclaimed Film & TV Festival program. Running concurrently with the SXSW Conference, Music and Comedy Festivals, attendees can take advantage of the opportunity to connect with a wide array of industry experts, making the Film Festival an unparalleled experience at the forefront of discovery, creativity, and innovation. 2023 Announcements

The SXSW Film & TV Festival revealed the initial 2023 lineup including Opening Night film, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves directed and co-written by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley as well as Evil Dead Rise directed by Lee Cronin; Problemista directed by Julio Torres; Flamin' Hot directed by Eva Longoria, and many more. 2023 LINEUP

Competition Awards

The Narrative Feature Competition, the Documentary Feature Competition, Poster Design, and Special Awards will be announced on Tuesday, March 14 along with all the Short Film Program winners, which are eligible for Jury Awards within their respective screening categories. All film categories, except Special Screenings and TV Spotlight, will be eligible for category-specific Audience Awards, which will be certified by the accounting firm of Maxwell Locke & Ritter and announced via sxsw.com the following week.
