BETSEY JOHNSON Spring 2016 The Curios Case of Betsey Button celebrated 50 years in the fashion industry at the Arc on Friday, September 11, 2015. Johnson’s extraordinary and memorable themed runway show dedicated to Ann K. Pimm (Johnson’s childhood dance instructor) and dance venues such as Limelight, Palladium, Mud Club, Electric Circus, and Max’s Kansas City displayed five decades of vintage designs from present day to 1950s.

Models on the runway opened with the corseted tutu dress, then it flowed into the 90s with cocktail dresses, jumpsuits in print and solid colors. The 80s, 70s and 60s designs included an awesome rubrics cube pant suit, polka-dotted shirt mini dress with an oversize collar, jumpsuits, cocktail dresses and mini skirts in polka-dots, pinstripes, black, silver, red and yellow. Johnson closed the show with her stellar classic 50s collection of leotards, miniskirts with stripes and buttons.
