Ross M. Dinerstein (THE PACT, MR. JONES, THE DIVIDE) has launched a new production, and post-production company called Campfire.

Successful Producer Launches New Film, TV, Digital, Commercial, and Post Production Company CAMPFIRE

Prolific producer Ross M. Dinerstein (THE PACT, MR. JONES, THE DIVIDE) has launched a new venture – a multi-faceted film, television, digital content, commercial production, and post-production company called Campfire.

One of the most active independent producers in the industry, Dinerstein has produced or executive produced over 25 feature films in the last ten years. Content Media, who Dinerstein has made 10 consecutive movies with, is financially backing Campfire.

Campfire’s first produced films include THE DIABOLICAL – a high concept sci-fi horror film starring Ali Larter; Rodney Ascher’s THE NIGHTMARE, which follows the disturbing investigation into the demonic visions experienced by victims of sleep paralysis and provoked by Ascher's own unsettling experiences with the condition; and a documentary about the personal computer wars of the 1980’s centering on Compaq Computer and its takedown of IBM and others.

“Campfire is the company that I have been planning since I started in this business, and Content Media has given me the support and resources to make this dream a reality,” said Dinerstein.  “Campfire will be an innovative company that works in all media and platforms.”

Headquartered in Los Angeles, Campfire exists to serve as a top-tier supplier of mainstream projects for studios, major independents, networks, cable channels, and leading digital platforms. On the film side, Campfire will produce anywhere from two to three films a year at varying budget levels and genres, one to two television and digital series, three to four commercials a year through its strategic relationships with European based commercial production companies, and will provide post-production services to both its own projects and third party projects.

CEO of Content John Schmidt, and President of Film Jamie Carmichael said, “Ross has proven himself to be a highly accomplished producer and entrepreneur, and we are extremely excited to be part of his ambitious future plans.”

Dinerstein will build out the Campfire executive management team over the coming months but has already appointed Joel Henry as Campfire’s Head of Physical Production, Saul Herckis as Head of Post Production, and Andrew Schwarz as its Coordinator of Production and Development. Lydia Dunham will continue to assist Dinerstein as he runs the day-to-day operations of the company.

Prior to launching Campfire, Dinerstein served as co-CEO of Preferred Film & TV (PFTV).  Over the last few years, he has focused his producing efforts on creating elevated “midnight movies” including THE PACT, MR. JONES, THE DIVIDE, and THE DAY. THE PACT premiered in the Park City at Midnight Section at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. IFC Midnight acquired the film in North America and released it theatrically in July 2012. The film was distributed theatrically in the UK by eOne where it grossed over $4M at the box office.  THE PACT 2 is currently in release in the U.S. and will be released all over the world over the next few months.  Dinerstein also served as an Executive Producer on the hit documentary JIRO DREAMS OF SUSHI and the television pilot THE REBELS for Amazon Studios. Other films produced by Dinerstein include the 2009 Sundance official selection THE KILLING ROOM directed by Jonathan Liebesman and THE GRAND directed by Zak Penn.

Dinerstein has a Master’s Degree in Motion Picture Producing from the USC School of Cinema and Television’s Peter Stark Producing Program and an undergraduate degree in Economics and Film Studies from Vanderbilt University.
