AFM 2015 Line Up for The Exchanage: Friend Request with Alycia Debnam-Carey and William Moseley
Brian O'Shea, CEO of The Exchange, announced today the acquisition of international sales rights of the horror feature FRIEND REQUEST, with Alycia Debnam-Carey (INTO THE STORM, AMC's Fear the Walking Dead), William Moseley (CHRONICLES OF NARNIA trilogy, E!'s The Royals), Connor Paolo (The CW's Gossip Girl, ABC's Revenge), and Brit Morgan (FREE RIDE, USA's Graceland), among others.
The Exchange is introducing the feature to international buyers at the American Film Market next month, while WME holds domestic sales rights.
The German distribution rights are held by Warner Bros. Germany.
FRIEND REQUEST, a fictitious horror movie, is written and directed by the upcoming European director Simon Verhoeven. Quirin Berg and Max Wiedemann of Wiedemann & Berg Film, producers of the 2007 Oscar Winner for Best Foreign Language Film THE LIVES OF OTHERS and 2014 Toronto International Film Festival Official Selection WHO AM I - NO SYSTEM IS SAFE, produced the feature.
Laura is a popular college student who lives her collegiate life to the fullest, gladly sharing it with her all her Facebook friends. But when Laura accepts a friend request from a loner in her class, Marina, she unwittingly sets a terrible curse in motion. Marina suddenly dies, but her Facebook page continues to harass Laura and her friends. And eventually, the online harassment becomes real life danger. Laura's friends start suffering gruesome accidents or worse. Laura must solve the mystery of the curse before the evil haunting her kills everyone around her.
"The film's cast and concept are very strong in addition to a high production value, allowing for a relevant theatrical hook to attract young film goers. FRIEND REQUEST is right in line with such current hits as UNFRIENDED, OUIJA, and SINISTER." Said O'Shea from The Exchange, "scary as hell and can play theatrically around the world".
