Come August 5th, Fox Star Studios’ Rise of The Planet Of The Apes will open in 450 single screens, trumping Hollywood films like Harry Potter and X-Men: First Class, which opened in 250 single screens. No other Hollywood film has seen such a massive opening, especially in the dubbed languages (Hindi, Tamil and Telegu), as the film makers feel audiences across India will connect with the film's universal appeal. Peter Jackson’s New Zealand-based digital effects house Weta Digital, which was responsible for AVATAR, THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy, and KING KONG have expanded upon its Academy Award-winning work to render, for the first time ever, photo-realistic apes rather than costumed actors. This technology allows audiences to emotionally engage with a lead character, a chimpanzee named Caesar, who does not exist.
