"The Martini Effect" was selected to the 8th Thess International Film Festival for October 25-29, 2014 in Thessaloniki, Greece. Festival director Yiannis Zachopoulos received over 1,000 entries for this edition of the festival. "The Martini Effect" tells the story of a couple who is "underwater" on their home and unable to pay their mortgage due to some personal problems and bad choices. "The Martini Effect" will play the Cairo Video Festival in Egypt November 5-19, 2014. The film, which deals with the economic and emotional crisis in a couple's life when they face foreclosure on a home in which they are "underwater", stars Emanuele Secci and Dawn Westlake. There are underwater film festivals from Monterrey to Belgrade...Who knew? Well, now I know...and we've just been accepted to one. "The Martini Effect" will play in Serbia's 17th Annual Underwater Film Fest in Belgrade in December 2013. The film's underwater cinematography was shot by Emanuele Secci in Barbados and provided to Ron de Cana Productions by Secci Films.

Life mirrors art as the filmmaker accidentally becomes homeless during shooting and turns the camera on herself.

38th annual Filmets: Badalona International Film Fest in Spain (near
Barcelona) for November 16-25, 2012.
This is a special festival
for filmmaker Dawn Westlake as she was an exchange student in Barcelona
in 1980, and she considers Catalunya to be a second home.
