The International Art Book and Film Festival (FILAF)  aims to bring together, to celebrate and to award prizes to the best books and films covering art, which have appeared all over the world during previous year. FILAF takes place in the historic centre of Perpignan, south of France, on the Spanish border, right next to the Mediterranean Sea. FILAF takes place every year during the last week of June.
For several days, the public has access to an international selection of books and films via screenings, lectures and meetings with authors. FILAF focuses on international creations from worldwide concerning contemporary art, photography, design, art collections, cinema, modern art, ancient art and primitive art. An art book and film fair, an exhibition of the thousand most impressive books, an organised walk around the historic city centre, art exhibitions, lectures given by authors, a day dedicated to the professionals and an evening awards ceremony : welcome to FILAF! FILAF is an independant festival organised by COGITO. Sponsored by the National Institue of the History of Art (INHA in Paris), as well as by numerous publicly- and privately-funded partners, FILAF aims to be a real point of reference in its domaine. FILAF has a panel of specialists from artworld witch accompanies the festival throughout the year, and a jury made up of international and independant experts. FILAF is also cooperating with numerous medias and magazines, wich sponsor it such as : Books Magazine, Arte TV, Art press magazine, Quotidien de l'art. FILAF is the only festival in the world to celebrate art through books and films. All spheres of art come together to produce these ressources, which provide crucial access to the knowledge of the works of art. FILAF wants to provide a moment where professionals can meet and exchange with each other, as well as with the public,in an atmosphere of discovery and conviviality
