Pentedattilo Film Festival

Pentedattilo Film Festival is held every year in the unique ancient town of Pentedattilo, near Reggio Calabria. The village, defined by the nineteenth-century traveler Edward Lear "The strangest human dwelling place" is perched on a strange rock shaped as a giant hand, and it has recently experienced a cultural recovery that has made it one of the most significant destination for the spread of international short films. This year Pentedattilo Film Festival opens again to those insatiable travellers who explore unusual borders, dedicating them a 3 full time days of screenings, seminars, films, special events. The PFF, born in 2006 by a group of young filmmakers and produced by 'Ram Film' and the 'Associazione Pro Pentedattilo' with the partnership of several bodies and agencies, aims to give visibility to the most recent production of short films and to foster ideas and artistic exchanges; whereas the awards are an encouragement to the authors who invade each year a place that represents an emblem of change and creative sharing.

Pentedattilo Film Festival is coming up!

Once again we bend over backwards for you: International Section
"Territory on the move", "Women", "Youth" and from this year a brand new
section entirely dedicated to animation.

The ancient town of Pentedattilo is ready for your short movies, and you?

The walls of the typical restored houses, rocks, steep staircases,
have been orphaned of your stories for a long time: it's time to restart
to tell your stories.

A festival that seeks to explore new paths and trails to give you a
brand new experience of perception, creating an event that annually
brings to life one of the most beautiful villages of Italy. The strange
thing is that by now we can not say anymore that Pentedattilo is a ghost
town, six years ago it was so, yes, but now we all together let revived
it, there are no ghosts but real people who care spaces each year, in a
continuous synergy of cinema and territory.
Us, the rock with five
fingers and the cinema. Us, your short movies and the steep streets
which get filled with images and words.
Streets filled of ideas so that, once again, the territory will be on the move!
