STEFANO SOLLIMA’S "SOLDADO" TO OPEN ISCHIA GLOBAL 2018

  "Soldado", the highly anticipated action-movie with Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin, will open the prestigious 16th annual Ischia Global Film & Music Festival, on Sunday, July 15th on the big screen in the Lacco Ameno bay.

Produced by Thunder Road Pictures and Black Label Media, “Soldado” marks the international debut of the Italian director Stefano Sollima (“A.C.A.B”, “Gomorra – The series”, “Suburra”).  The film opens on June 29^th in the U.S. (Sony) and on October 18^th in Italy.  Global content leader Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B) is distributing the film in the UK and overseeing international sales and distribution outside of Latin America and Spain (Sony).

SICARIO: Day of the Soldado begins a new chapter in the series.  In the drug war, there are no rules – and as the cartels have begun trafficking terrorists across the US border, federal agent Matt Graver (Josh Brolin) calls on the mysterious Alejandro (Benicio Del Toro), whose family was murdered by a cartel kingpin, to escalate the war in nefarious ways. Alejandro kidnaps the kingpin’s daughter to inflame the conflict – but when the girl is seen as collateral damage, her fate will come between the two men as they question everything they are fighting for.
