Freethought Film Fest

The Freethought Film Festival Foundation is a 501(c)(3), non-profit, educational organization. Our mission is to promote reason, critical thinking and freedom of inquiry through the medium of film.

The International Freethought Film Festival is in its third season. IFFF 2013 will take place in Orlando, Florida from November 15th-17th. The categories of films that we screen range from live action, animation, documentary, experimental and narrative features and shorts. The films are captivating, thought provoking, entertaining and the selections reflect our mission statement.

The International Freethought Film Festival is a niche film festival for the bold. Promoting reason through film is our mission. Examples of themes in the Freethought niche are those that challenge what some societies and cultures deem unchallengeable, such as religion or government policies. The examination of truth claims that are of interest to skeptics, such as paranormal claims, alternative medicine, UFO’s, psychics and astrology, fits this niche. Films that shed light on Human Rights violations, and stories of women and men who take a humanistic approach to affect positive change in society, have a home at IFFF. The clash between scientifiic findings and religious/superstitious traditions is a common theme among submissions as well.

Official film selections get exposure outlside of just the film festival , Freethinkers around the globe are seeking more films that reflect their idealism in entertaining ways, in addition to documentaries. The Freethought Film Festival Foundaton works with national and international secular organizations to share these films and recommend them to members of their organization. Exposure at the International Freethought Film Festival will launch your film toward an eager audience within the secular movement.

Many film festivals select films that generally steer clear of major controversy. Submitting to those festivals may be a waste of a submission fee for you. If your film reflects any of these ideals, submit it. We affirm that having the freedom of expression completely negates the concept of having the courage of your convictions. We strongly believe that rationalistic and artistic are not mutually exclusive. Visit our Website (freethoughtfilmfest.org) to watch shorts and teasers of official selections of IFFF seasons passed.

The Freethought Film Festival Foundation, host of the International Freethought Film Festival, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, educational organization. All proceeds from submissions and events go toward the continuity of the Internationational Freethought Film Festival and promoting reason through film via special film events.
