Dawn Westlake

Principal photography on Ron de Cana Productions' 14th short film wrapped last week in Los Angeles. The new piece is called "Found Objects". It was shot with the generous support of Canon USA, Inc. on their C300 with a rig designed by cinematographer Shane Hurlbut ("Act of Valor").

"Found Objects" is written/produced/directed by Dawn Westlake. Cinematography is by Brandon Bondehagen. Location sound is provided by Amanda Beggs and Saif Parkar.

"Found Objects" stars Jo-Anne Krupa, Joey D'Auria, Emanuele Secci, Dawn Westlake & Derek Graf. 1st AC/DIT was Ezra Riley.

The film is now in post-production with editor Brandon Bondehagen. Original music will come from Gregory Johnson of Acoustic Labs.

"Found Objects" is a fairy tale. Once upon a time, the daughter of a famous Hollywood
animator fell in love with a blowtorch artist with whom she thought she’d found
her place in the sun…While visiting her father to tell him of this man of her
dreams, she learns more about the mysterious star who burnished her father’s
career. When she returns to her beloved artist’s studio, she is surprised to
find she’s been cast out of his picture. But, how do you compete with the
biggest star in The System: The Sun...?
