we are pleased to announce that the documentary film outside by Johanna Sunder-Plassmann and Tama Tobias-Macht will celebrate its World Premiere as part of this year’s Berlinale Section Perspektive Deutsches Kino! The film is produced by the award-winning production company unafilm. The German film distribution company, Real Fiction Filmverleih, is planning to release the film in German cinemas in 2018. We would like to inform you about the official screenings during the Berlinale:

ABOUT THE FILM:

Personal items loaded with memories and emotions. Witnesses to the eventful life stories of homeless people. Through its unusual approach, outside opens the gates to a world that otherwise remains hidden from us and invites the spectator to change of perspective.

unafilm: Uncompromising and artistically demanding. Fiction film and documentary. National and international. Producer, Titus Kreyenberg worked as an executive producer for film and television for many years before he founded his own production company, unafilm, in 2004. The company’s films compete in A-festivals around the world, Berlinale, Cannes, Toronto, Locarno, IDFA, San Sebastian, DOKLeipzig, among them. In 2013 Heli won the award for Best Director in competition in Cannes. 2014 Bridges of Sarajevo was shown in the Sélection Officelle in Cannes and last year   I am not a Witch premiered at Director's Fortnight.

Johanna Sunder-Plassmann, Born in 1983 in Germany. She studied Media Art at HBKSaar and Accademia di Belle Arti Milan, Italy (2004 - 2008) and cinema at the Academy of Media Arts, Cologne (2008 - 2013). Between 2009 and 2012, she worked as exhibition designer of Turkish author, Orhan Pamuk’s MUSEUM OF INNOCENCE. Since 2012 work as a freelance director and exhibition designer for several Museums, among them the German Film Museum in Frankfurt and the Märkisches Museum in Berlin. Johanna Sunder-Plassmann lives and works in Cologne, Germany

Tama Tobias-Macht, Born 1982 in Jerusalem, Israel. She studied photography at the Bezalel Academy of Arts  and Design, Jerusalem (2003 - 2005) and cinema at the Academy of Media Arts, Cologne (2006 - 2012). Since 2012 work as a freelance director, editor and photographer. Received several awards for her artistic work, among others the award for young artists NRW in the category film and the award for young film art National Gallery Berlin/ German Film Academy (Shortlist).  Tama Tobias Macht lives and works in Cologne, Germany.
