Gravitas Ventures has acquired the riveting and startling documentary, WHEN THE BOUGH BREAKS, which will be released digitally on iTunes on March 14, 2017. Narrated and Executive Produced by Brooke Shields, and written and directed by Jaimelyn Lippman, the feature length documentary about postpartum depression and postpartum psychosis uncovers this very public health issue which affects one in five new mothers after childbirth.

Babies are dying, women aren't speaking out and the signs are being missed.  WHEN THE BOUGH BREAKS takes us on a journey to find answers and break the silence, featuring stories from activist Lindsay Gerszt, Carnie Wilson, Tanya Newbould (X-Men) Chef Aarti Sequeira (Food Network Host) and Peggy Tanous (The Real Housewives of Orange County), among others. The film is produced by Lippman, Gerszt and Newbould.  The deal was negotiated between Brendan Gallagher of Gravitas Ventures and Diana Holtzberg of East Village Entertainment on behalf of the filmmakers.

WHEN THE BOUGH BREAKS sheds a bright light on the serious issues associated with postpartum depression and postpartum psychosis. I am honored to be a part of this team, that worked so fearlessly to bring awareness to the cause, and seek action for mothers around the world,” said Executive Producer and Narrator Brooke Shields

Jamielyn Lippman, director and owner of the film’s production company Point Of View Pictures, shared “With all of the recent lives that have been lost due to infanticide and suicide this is such a timely film.  We couldn’t have found a better fit then Gravitas to give this film the attention it needs and deserves."

The sales manager for Gravitas Ventures, Anna Roberts, confirmed her excitement, stating “PPD is such an uncovered subject in documentary format, and Gravitas feels Jaimelyn did a phenomenal job bringing it to light.  We are excited to share such a compelling documentary with hundreds of millions of homes worldwide through all of our partners worldwide.”
