This award is for work that deals with news or social issues in documentary or reporting style. Also specialist factual — from science, history or arts to consumer issues, business or general popular factual. Winner: OUR LIFE Produced, Directed, Filmed and Edited by Matthew Morris, Anthony Allen and Elvis Katoto, Teesside University. The judges agreed that the standard was high this year, with entries showing considerable creativity in dealing with complex and sensitive subject matters. The two entries from the University of Sunderland — DANIEL and PRADA PIGS — dealt very well with very different subjects.
