The Slamdance Film Festival, which takes place in Park City, Utah at the same time as the Sundance Film Festival, takes low budget American indies to its heart. The San Francisco Film Society wrapped its 53rd San Francisco International Film Festival (April 22 - May 6) with 293 screenings of 181 films from 46 countries, with 188 filmmakers and 104 industry guests from 23 countries in attendance and more than 75,000 filmgoers.
