Quendrith JohnsonQuendrith Johnson is filmfestivals.com Los Angeles Correspondent covering everything happening in film in Hollywood... Well, the most interesting things, anyway. 83rd Race Heats Up: A Dozen Oscar Nods for KING'S SPEECH & Full ScriptBy Quendrith Johnson, Los Angeles Correspondent Today the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences announced this year's Oscar(r) nominations. With few surprises, Colin Firth's festival run in THE KING'S SPEECH, written by David Seidler, is poised to take most of the honors with a record-vying 12 nominations. Fourteen (14) is the record for Oscar noms (i.e.; TITANIC), but if this picture wins in every nominated category, cinema history will be made. To find the full text of this remarkable screenplay, visit www.screenmancer.tv for the 90-page download. Meanwhile, as widely imagined, 2011 is The Year of Natalie Portman in BLACK SWAN. Here are the choices of 5,755 Academy voters for the 83rd annual Oscar presentation to be held Feb. 27, 2011. (Note there are Ten Best Picture hopefuls. Only polling house PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) know who the winners are at this point... we think.) No Big Surprises? Noms for the 83rd Academy Awards Performance by an actor in a leading role
