September 2013 Hollywood, CA / Marseille, France

Sunil Sadarangani Indian-born, Hollywood award winning producer/actor, is back with a new short film BLIND in partnership with French filmmaker and visual artist, Thibault Guerin. BLIND was filmed on location in Marseille, in its Metro subway station in the month of February 2013. Blind has been accepted into its 1st film festival of 2013 – The 3rd Annual Silent River Film Festival, Irvine, California. There will also be a private screening for Industry colleagues, media and friends On Sat Sept 7, 2013. Many people are expected to attend including a representative from the French Embassy as Marseille is the 2013 cultural capital of Europe. It will be held JET Studios- 5126 Lankershim Blvd., North Hollywood, CA 91601.

Based on true events experienced by Sadarangani, he co-wrote the script along with Guerin and co-star Magali Lerbey.

BLIND Synopsis: "Blind" is an encounter of two people at a train station in France. One blind, the other not. When a young man, lost and clueless, tries to find his way to make it to a late night train in a Marseille subway, little would he know a blind french man, would be waiting for him to take him into his world where everything is seen...quite differently. A realization of perceptions of what we see with and without sight.

BLIND is directed and edited by the very talented and award winning filmmaker and visual artist, Thibault Guerin, who is based in Marseille. With Guerin as director, this project has been pushed a notch higher given the fact that he brings his visual style and artistry to the making of the film.

Sadarangani’s previous brush with Marseille was when he was invited to attend the 2011 Marseille Webfest screening of his three-time award winning hit web-series, Bollywood to Hollywood that he co-starred and co-produced.

“The first time I visited Marseille in 2011 during the Marseille Web Fest, I really connected with the people and the city. I knew I’d be back soon to work on a project! I am very honored and happy to have worked with Thibault. I think our association together as filmmakers will not stop with this film” said Sadarangani.

Filming “Blind” in Marseille has been significant because the city is Europe’s cultural capital for 2013.

The film stars Sadarangani himself alongside French thespian Theatre and TV actor, Michel Panier and French film and TV actress Magali Lerbey.

Sunil’s previous short film, 3 time award winning short film, ‘In Transit’ was also based on true events he experienced and was scripted by him. With both stories being events experienced by Sunil, he decided to start a global series called ©Real Shorts – True Encounters In Moving Images. By setting the story of BLIND in Marseille, Sunil has officially launched the global series.

‘In Transit’ (2012) which Sadarangani wrote, produced and co-stared in with the famous Mexican actress, Liliana Ariaga. (La Chupitos) was widely successful, considered for Oscar nomination, pulled in three International Distributors-- Indieflix, Shorts International and Spiritual Cinema Circle, screened at the coveted Laemmle Theatre in Los Angeles and various international film festivals, won multiple awards, including “Best Film,” “Best Director (Stev Elam) and “Best Actor.” (Sadarangani) at the Angeleno Film Festival, Los Angeles, CA, and is now being made into a feature length film—but not before ‘Blind’ has its place in the sun.

Much like ‘In Transit’, the underlying theme of ‘Blind’ is people connecting with each other through their hearts—the heart which sees far more than the eyes and needs no language to communicate the human spirit. ‘Blind’ is the second film in the series © ‘Real Shorts – True Encounters in Moving Images’ created by Sadarangani.
