TIFF16: The Exchange acquires James Franco's King Cobra

Brian O'Shea, The Exchange CEO, announced today that the company acquired Justin Kelly's KING COBRA international sales rights, the porn industry picture starring James Franco, Christian Slater, Molly Ringwald, Alicia Silverstone, Garrett Clayton and Keegan Allen.

KING COBRA joins new titles like IRREPLACEABLE YOU by Stephanie Laing in The Exchange's lineup to be presented to the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival buyers. The Exchange represented Kelly's first film I AM MICHAEL.

KING COBRA premiered in the Midnight section at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival to great reviews and strong word of mouth and will have its European birth at this years London film Festival.

KING COBRA is produced by Jordan Yale Levine of Yale Productions; Scott Levenson; Vince Jolivette and Franco of Rabbit Bandini Productions; and Shaun S. Sanghani of SSS Entertainment.

"We are thrilled to be in business with Justin again" said O'Shea. "He is a filmmaker that is uniquely talented, able to take true life salacious stories, and create entertaining films that have global appeal"

Directed by Justin Kelly, from his own screenplay, KING COBRA is based on the Andrew E. Stoner-Peter A. Conway book "Cobra Killer: Gay Porn, Murder, and the Manhunt to Bring the Killers to Justice" about the 2007 murder of a gay porn producer (Slater) by two aspiring producers (Franco and Allen).
