Tokyo International Film Festival

On November 5th, day 2 of TIFFCOM, we are pleased to report all seminars and events finished successfully. Our 2nd day’s main seminar was presented by TIFFCOM2020 special guest, Mr. Robert Early from Amazon Prime Video Japan. This year is Amazon Japan’s 20th anniversary. Prime Video started in 2015 and it currently holds the largest market share in Japan.　Amazon Japan provides 37 series (57 titles) of “Japan Originals” and considers further investment for original development. “Japan Originals” Team is formed with Erika North, the head of Asia-Pacific Originals, Satoshi Kubota in charge of drama and Yuuki Matsuzawa in charge of variety shows. This team actively promotes a wide range of original projects and support for outstanding creators. Stay tuned for Amazon Prime Video’s challenges!

Final day highlights

  Below are some of our featured seminars for our final day, November 6th.
The first seminar of the day is “Hollywood in New Normal: Future prospects and strategies from the eyes of industry leaders” with moderator Mashi Oka.

  On a related subject, “Film Production In ASEAN Since COVID-19” will start from 13:00. Speakers will share the latest situation in the movie industry of Asian Countries under the calamity of COVID-19, how they see this challenge as a new opportunity and discuss current projects, including new perspectives of Indonesia, Philippines, Thai, Vietnam.

  In addition, don’t miss “MPA/DHU/TIFFCOM Masterclass Seminar and Pitching Contest”. For the third year of this program, we welcome Thomas M. Horton, a VFX producer on "The King's Speech" and many other hit films at this Master Class.
