January 30th 1972, British soldiers shot 13 civilians dead during a civil rights march in Northern Ireland. In the years since, this event has become infamously known as Bloody Sunday, believed to be the beginning of the Irish conflict that has lead the country into civil war and violence. By focusing on four men from both sides involved in the event, Bloody Sunday tells the story of what happened in a matter-of-fact, realistic style. ...

With his usual blend of whimsicality, smooth poetry, spiritual depth and eco-protest vigour, Miyazaki works all the way through towards a positive message about the resourcefulness of kids. "It's not so much a story in which the characters grow up" said Miyazaki, "as a story in which they draw on something already inside them, brought out by the particular circumstances... I wanted to tell such a story in this movie. I want my young teenage friends to live like that, and I think they, too, have ...
Rebounding from one quirk of fate to the other, Elling gives a keen and funny insight into the fears and dreams of two deeply inhibited beings longing to soar into the world with full-fledged wisdom. With a strange allure conveying the quirkiness of Rowan Atkinson's Mr. Bean and the solemnity of Anthony Hopkins, Norway's number one acting talent Per Christian Ellefsen portrays Elling, a deeply inhibited mother's boy flung into the big world after psychological therapy.

For over half a century, French critiques have come together each year to
award their Prix de la Critique to the best films of the preceeding year. These

"You must celebrate, the more, the merrier," said Jury president
Mira Nair with a beaming smile at the Awards press conference, just before announcing
the 2002 Golden Bear. It seems her Bollywood good spirit and sense of partying
played some role in the final palmares which allows two totally different works
to cohabit for one of the most prestigious festival awards : Hayao Miyazaki's
light hearted animation Spirited Away and Paul Greengrass's gripping
part-reconstruction...
How interesting that the final film of the 2002 Berlin Festival would be The
Great Dictator from Charlie Chaplin, who made this satire of Hitler in 1940,
before the true atrocities of WWII were known. According to indieWIRE, Chaplin
confessed in his autobiography that he would have never made this film if the
truth about concentration camps had already been known. The film was banned
during the war years in Europe and only arrived in German theatres in 1958.

Agents are licensed by the California Department of Labor. Managers are not.
Agents can procure employment for artists, while managers cannot. It is not
always clear, however, when a manager's activities are considered procuring
employment. One might think that selling a writer's finished script is not procuring
employment because the writing services have been completed. But a rece...
