The competitions for the Lucca Film Festival 2024 are open

The engines are already warming up for the twentieth edition of the Festival with the launch of the 3 International Competitions on the FilmFreeway and FestHome platforms: for the Feature Film Competition, 12 films will be selected and will continue the tradition of presenting the best international, independent, and auteur cinema; the 2023 edition saw the triumph of the Chechen film "The Cage is Looking for a Bird" by Malika Musaeva triumph, and the selection team, coordinated by Stefano Giorgi, Martino Martinelli, and Mattia Fiorino, is about to choose the best international works produced between 2023 and 2024; The International Short Film Competition, curated by Laura Da Prato and Dario Ricci, will reach its 20th edition in 2024 saw an astonishing participation in the recently concluded edition, with over 600 works from around the world and the victory of "The Lost Ox," a poetic debut film from China.
Continuing into its second edition, after the victory of the German film "Father Chase me not" by Samuel Visky, is the green-themed short film competition, Lucca Film Festival For Future, curated by Leonardo Galeassi, a section created to raise awareness among citizens about the needs of a new culture of protection and enhancement of the environment and nature.
The participating works will compete for the awards for Best Feature Film, Best Short Film, and Best Green Work, awarded by three juries composed of prominent names in the film industry, for the awards of the Student Jury, the Popular Jury, and the Marcello Petrozziello Award, given by the press jury.
The registration deadline for the 3 Competitions, available on the Filmfreeway and Festhome portals, is open until July 15, 2024.

With the participation of the Ministry of Culture - General Directorate of Cinema and Audiovisual, the Municipality of Lucca and Vivi Lucca Events, and with the co-participation of The Lands of Giacomo Puccini and the Chamber of Commerce Tuscany North - West.
