Ohio Independent Film Festival (OIFF) highlight

Cleveland's best kept secret really shouldn't be a secret at all. Cleveland-based indie film non-profit Independent Pictures has been presenting the Ohio Independent Film Festival (OIFF) at least yearly since 1993. The festival that first started out in a storefront in Tremont has been known for showing edgier films that fall off the mainstream and films from newer and emerging filmmakers will again promise a line-up of films from across the globe, in Cleveland's historic Waterloo Arts District at both Beachland Ballroom, 15711 Waterloo Road, and Arts Collinwood, 15605 Waterloo Rd. The OIFF will be held May 18 - May 21, 2011. Tickets for all screenings will be $10.
Each and every film that is shown at the OIFF is submitted directly by the filmmaker or producer; each and every film that is shown at the OIFF is hand-picked from those submissions. What that means is that the Artistic Director, along with a selection committee that consists of volunteer board members, review films to program a festival of outstanding independent films.
The OIFF line-up generally consists of more than 80-90 full length features and shorts. This year the festival will be split between the Beachland Ballroom and at Arts Collinwood.
