Language localisation global network

TM SYSTEMS, developers of the Emmy® Award Winning language localization software, offering the industry’s only “end to end” language transcription, translation, dubbing, subtitling, quality control and closed captioning system has announced the formation of its new “Global Language Network”, comprised of some of the world’s leading translation, dubbing and subtitling facilities, all “powered” by the unique, proprietary localization software.

“The Kitchen, a Miami-based operation, has been successfully utilizing the TM SYSTEMS software since its inception four years ago and will now serve as the new East Coast GLN language “hub” (TM SYSTEMS acquired The Kitchen on May 5, 2005). To compliment its East Coast “hub”, TM will mirror The Kitchen’s operation in Los Angeles.

The Global Language Network has been formed to better serve the growing need for international language customization by the worldwide film and television industry. Leading localization companies from around the world have been selected as members of the GLN, which will ultimately result in the largest and most comprehensive network of independent, experienced language specialty companies ever assembled, all “powered” by TM SYSTEMS software.

Through the GLN, video and film masters remain at the “hub”, either in Miami or Los Angeles, and all files are sent digitally to the respective territory for translation, dubbing and subtitling. The TM SYSTEMS software will “power” every phase of the GLN, eliminating all shipping costs and customs delays; doing away with piracy through encryption and watermarking; getting rid of video and videotape forever; assuring matched language versions in every language and in every format; introducing the ability to “QC” a program as it is progressing and much more.

“With the studios, networks and distributors stressing the importance of quality and quick turnaround, the GLN couldn’t be timelier,” Ken Lorber, CEO of the company, added. “We are thrilled to be introducing the industry’s first, true Global Language Network and we are honored to be representing some of the finest language localization houses in the world through the GLN.”
