Kali Pictures & SoulFire Creations present INTO LIGHT biopic of Women Voting Rights activist Inez MilhollandThis election year, August 18th is the Centennial of women's Suffrage in the US, granting women the right to vote. Even after 100 years, voting rights have never been more important than they are right now.
We feel this is a timely opportunity to celebrate the suffragists' legacy in film and inspire people to vote, which is why we've produced an epic short about civil and voting rights activist Inez Milholland, called Into Light.
Made with love by our award-winning team of mostly female filmmakers, Into Light has galvanized incredible interest and support from sponsors and organizations keen to promote the film. Here's a teaser for Into Light, and the synopsis below:
'INTO LIGHT' brings to life Inez Milholland, one of the leaders of the suffrage movement in 1916. In the clutches of terminal illness, she steels herself for the final speech of her tour ~ rallying the nation to give women the right to vote. Though President Wilson and most of the voting men see the cause as a threat, still she persists. As her galvanizing speech reaches a fever pitch, she suddenly collapses. The doctor insists she rush to the hospital, but nothing will stop her - or the tide of equality.
COMING SOON WITH YOUR HELPBe empowered by the true story of a woman who gave her life, so that all people could have the right to vote.
