Cathy Rohnke has been appointed as new Programme Manager


Effective 1 September 2005, Cathy Rohnke will take over the responsibilities of Programme Management for the Berlinale Talent Campus as Christine Dorn˜s successor.

•The Berlinale Talent Campus is one of the most successful initiatives of the international film scene in the last years. I am very much looking forward to further developing this exciting project together with Christine Tröstrum and Thomas Struck and the Campus team,– commented Rohnke on her new mission.

At the age of fifteen, Cathy Rohnke founded her own acting group and her first band. After many years of theatre experience, she studied at the Ludwig Maximilian University and at the Academy of Film & Television, both in Munich, and completed a Ph.D. in Communication Sciences. During this time, she was able to gather hands-on experience in the film industry with numerous jobs in the Germany and the USA.

In 1991 she created her own company, specializing in Cultural Sponsoring. In 1996 she was appointed head of Marketing-Communications at the HypoVereinsbank. And in 2002, she went on to become head of Cinepool ­ the world sales department of Telepool ­ focusing on acquisition, development, financing, and film production sales for the international and national markets.

In 2004 Rohnke left Telepool to create her own label ­ •Wilde Sterne– ­ to advise and consult national and international film productions and distributors. Parallel to this, she has also been instructing Film Dramaturgy and Media Aesthetics since 1995 at Leizpig University.
