HKIFF Industry is now accepting submissions for HAF's in-development fictional projects (IDP) and Chinese-language genre film projects (HCG). Representatives of 30 to 35 shortlisted projects from the 2 initiatives are invited to participate in FILMART next year (11-13 March 2024) and are eligible to compete for respective cash and in-kind awards!

HKIFF Industry goes on to provide a quality platform for filmmakers to present their exciting ideas to investors, film festival delegates, sales agents, and the like. With a leading track record of bringing projects to completion, HKIFF Industry has helped many projects achieve critical acclaim and box office success. IDP and HCG submissions will close on 31 October 2023. We eagerly anticipate your applications!

Recent accomplishment of HAF projects:

❍ A Journey in Spring (HAF21, Taiwan),
directed by Peng Tzu-Hui and Wang Ping-Wen, received Best Director at San Sebastian Film Festival 2023;

❍ Guras (HAF 21, India, Nepal),
directed by Patiparn Boontarig, selected in Karlovy Vary International Film Festival 2023 and A Window on Asian Cinema, Busan International Film Festival 2023;

❍ Solids by the Seashore (HAF 21, Thailand),
directed by Patiparn Boontarig, received New Currents Award and NETPAC Award at Busan International Film Festival 2023;

❍ Who Were We (HAF21, Japan),
directed by Tomina Tetsuya, selected in Tokyo International Film Festival 2023;

❍ A Song Sung Blue (HAF20, Mainland China),
directed by Geng Zihan, received Best Director, Fei Mu Awards at Pingyao Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon International Film Festival 2023, selected in Cannes Film Festival, Busan International Film Festival and Tokyo International Film Festival;

❍ Stonewalling (HAF19, Japan),
directed by Huang Ji and Otsuka Ryuji, received 4 nominations at Taipei Golden Horse Awards 2023, received Best Film and Best Actress of Young Cinema Competition (Chinese Language), and FIPRESCI Prize at Hong Kong International Film Festival 2023, selected by film festivals in Venice, Toronto, New York, London, San Diego, Vancouver, Tokyo and Bangkok;

❍ If Only I Could Hibernate (HAF17, Mongolia),
directed by Zoljargal Purevdash, selected in Un Certain Regard, Cannes Film Festival 2023 and A Window on Asian Cinema, Busan International Film Festival 2023;

❍ Art College 1994 (HAF16, Mainland China),
directed by Liu Jian, seleced in Berlin International Film Festival 2023 and Tokyo International Film Festival 2023.
