Carla Simón was selected last September for The Résidence du Festival that welcomes every year in Paris a dozen young foreign directors who work there on their first or second fictional feature film project. On the occasion of Festival de Cannes, the 12 directors present their projects at the CNC pavilion who grant a €5,000 award.

Fantastic 7

Fantastic 7 is a common initiative of the Marché du Film – Festival de Cannes, Sitges - International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia and international expert and creator of the Blood Window platform Bernardo Bergeret. Fantastic 7 has been created to foster emerging talents and connect with potential business partners by creating a privileged space for dialogue and reflexion supported by top-notch fantastic international film festivals.

Producers on the move

Carles Torras founded his Barcelona-based company, Zabriskie Films, in 2007 after directing such films as Youth and Trash. He produced his third feature, Open 24h (2011) as well as Aram Garriga's documentary American Jesus (2013) before making his first foray into English-language fiction production with the New York-set thriller Callback that won three Golden Biznaga Awards at the Malaga Film Festival in 2016. Carles is currently in postproduction on Garriga's new documentary American Satan and is developing his own new feature project, the psychological thriller The Paramedic, as well as The Invasion sci-fi series by Hèctor Hernández.
