Three of the Top Casino Movies of All Time

300px-Blackjack_board.JPG

Throughout the years gambling and especially the casino environment has inspired many writers and movie makers providing us with many storylines that captivate our imaginations.

The chance to win life-changing fortunes, maybe risking everything to do so draws the viewers, as does ‘getting one over’ the big (and quite often corrupt) big guys sets the scene for some really entertaining hours, and of course there is that luxurious feel to many successful movies where the beautiful people offer glitz and glamour in bucket-loads.

Not only is there that ‘red carpet’ feel to many movies there is also that darker side that lies just below, waiting to come to the surface just at the right time – perfect movie material!

Stuck for Choice in a Casino?

The list for the best gambling movies of all time is actually a varied bunch that range from the more serious side of casino life to the comedic offerings which means that there is sure to be something to suit everyone's taste.

  • Casino Royale [2006] the origin story of James Bond encapsulates all of the glitz and glamour of casino life which Daniel Craig oozes charm as 007. Perfect for sitting in front of the TV with family its no wonder that this film remains a firm favourite with many movie buffs and holds an IMDB of 8.0.
  • Ocean's Eleven [2001] has to be the best casino heist of the century! With a stellar cast this movie has to be one of the most entertaining of all time. Brilliantly directed by Steven Soderbergh the cast which includes names like Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Julia Roberts, Matt Damon and Andy Garcia as the casino boss gel  perfectly turning this casino epic into one of those movies you don’t want to end.
  • Possibly one of the most iconic performances was Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man [1988]  Pair him with a young Tom Cruise who plays the selfish brother Charlie Babbitt who discovers he has an autistic brother Raymond [Dustin Hoffman] after being left practically everything in their fathers will and who decides he will take Raymond out of the home where he lives. Now although Rain Man isn’t directly a casino movie the blackjack scene is unforgeable as Raymond's recall of cards makes them a small fortune and the way that Dustin Hoffman plays his role is probably one of his best in a splendid career.

In fact, casinos and everything to do with them engages many imaginations – you only have to look online to see how popular the online casino has become in the last couple of decades or so – so much so that they have overtaken popularity of playing casino games compared to going to a real bricks and mortar venue.

Today, there is a wide choice of games to play online with slots remaining as one of the firm favourites for a few reasons.

Fast paced and full of action besides offering some great chances of winning great cash prizes slots come in many variations. One of the most popular is the Starburst slot game at Fruity King as players can choose to play as little as 0.10 right up to 100 coins so there is something to suit every budget.

Play ‘N Go is the provider of Starburst slot game which is well respected within the industry providing luxurious games that play perfectly over all devices. Graphics are superb and the game is packed with special features to engage players to the full, and in this day and age where we go out socialising less than we have ever done before, finding a great game to play online is one way to enjoy that casino action when the mood takes us.
