Strike Back Studios Names Noor Ahmed As President and Announces Next Documentary Release "Howards Mill"
Strike Back Studios (a new joint venture between Realization Films, Public House Films, and Hideout Pictures), has announced their new president film veteran Noor Ahmed and that Strike Back Studios will next release “Howards Mill” a haunting documentary about an abandoned piece of farmland in rural Tennessee that may hold the key to multiple missing person cases spanning over forty years, which is being released to global audiences in March 2021. Currently, Strike Back Studios has also begun acquiring a library of more than a dozen independent feature film, both previously released and new releases that it will begin to exploit in the coming months. The recently formed Strike Back Studios is on a hot streak fresh off the successful North American theatrical release in 100 markets in September for the critically acclaimed “The Dark Divide,” with a global VOD/Digital release in 6 of 7 continents on November 10 (a complete countries list in the full press release below), and the upcoming limited theatrical release of the noir thriller “Disrupted” on November 11 and global VOD/Digital on November 17, 2020. Strike Back Studios will next release “Howards Mill” a haunting documentary about an abandoned piece of farmland in rural Tennessee that may hold the key to multiple missing person cases spanning over forty years, which is being released to global audiences in March 2021.This distribution partnership is bringing on new President Noor Ahmed, who brings with him 15 years of film sales and entertainment business/legal affairs experience at Reder & Feig, LLP. He’s been instrumental behind a number of independent gems from classics like “Thank You For Smoking” & “Brick,” to more main stream hits like “The Twilight Saga,” “Looper,” “Don Jon,” “The Big Sick,” “Get Out” and recently “Ali & Cavett: The Tale of The Tapes,” which recently received three Critics Choice Documentary Awards, among others. Strike Back Studios is a new joint venture between Realization Films, Public House Films, and Hideout Pictures. These three companies have been steadily creating incredible independent film success stories. Public House Films had previously partially financed the Sundance hits “The Kindergarten Teacher” & “Madeline Madeline” in 2018. In 2019 they executive produced the documentary “Framing John DeLorean” released by IFC Films and Universal and most recently produced “The Dark Divide” with David Cross & Debra Messing. Hideout Pictures had previously financed “The Jay & Silent Bob Reboot” and “3022” both released by Saban Films in 2019. They are executive producer on “Ted K.” that is in post-production, which stars Sharlto Copley in an exploration of Ted Kaczynksi's life in in the years leading up to his arrest as The Unabomber. Realization Films first feature project is “Disrupted” that premieres November 17 and is in post-production on the documentary feature “Buried” that focuses on the Alpine Meadows avalanche in the Lake Tahoe area in 1982. All 3 companies partnered with the production company TBVE on the documentary “The United States of Insanity” that is in post-production and follows the rap group Insane Clown Posse and their loyal fan base the Juggalos. Strike Back Studios is a unique new studio, who will first look to partner with other distributors on projects they are producing/financing. But they will also be able to distribute projects themselves directly to all major exploitation platforms. The goal is to work with producers from the earliest stages of development & production on up. They are embracing the true tenants of film collaboration and are bringing them to global audiences. Strike Back Studios is focused on addressing the growing concerns from producers with regards to the distribution of independent features. The company will work with producers early on in the production process to develop unique and innovate marketing/promotional strategies for their release. This will save producers from having to rely on taking their project to a film festival with the hope of a major sale to make them financially whole. Strike Back still wants to screen projects at film festival but make the screening part of the distribution release strategy vs sales strategy. 13.11.2020 | American Film Market Dailies's blog Cat. : PEOPLE
