Palatin Media and Mediawan strike SPIDES and EVOLUTION OF DRIVING deal

Palatin Media and Mediawan have announced today a licensee’s deal for the SciFi Event Series SPIDES (8x1h) produced by Palatin Media for the NBCUniversal International Networks, starring Florence Kasumba (AVENGERS, BLACK PANTHER), Rosabell Laurenti Sellers (GAME OF THRONES) and Falk Hentschel (LEGENDS OF TOMORROW).

The agreement provides Mediawan with all rights for SPIDES within French speaking territories after the first window on Pay-TV on Universal.

Set in modern-day Berlin, SPIDES follows Nora, a young woman who wakes from a coma without any memory of her previous life after taking a mysterious drug. Local police detective David Leonhart, and his partner Nique Navar are hunting down that drug in relation to dozens of missing teens. When Nora sets out to discover what happened to her, she begins to unravel a conspiracy of aliens who are using a synthetic drug to infiltrate humans to use as host bodies. The more truth Nora uncovers, the more of her own dark secret is revealed: she is the key to the invasion she is fighting.

Palatin Media CEO, Bernd Schlötterer: “We couldn’t have found a better partner in France for SPIDES than Mediawan to insure the best possible exploitation.”

Mediawan Thematics’ managing Director, Richard Maroko,: “Considering the strong appetite for Sci fi genre in French speaking territories, SPIDES will reinforce our catalogue and bring an european touch to the genre”

Furthermore, Mediawan has also acquired the French speaking and Turkish rights for the Event Car Documentary series EVOLUTION OF DRIVING, also produced by Palatin Media.

EVOLUTION OF DRIVING shows the history, the present, the tradition and the future of the automobile of the most important manufactures of the world. Racing legends and international automobile experts present the essential, legendary and groundbreaking car models and explain the myth of the greatest dream cars of all time.
